7:00pm – Women's 10,000m including Midland and Worcestershire County Championships

7:15pm - Javelin

8:00pm – Invitational 4 x 800m Masters World, European and British Record Attempts

8:15pm – Men’s 10,000m including Midland and Worcestershire County Championships

9:00pm - Presentations

Each 10,000m race limited to 20, all to be England Athletics affiliated athletes and completed a road 10Km or track 10,000m in less than 45 minutes (Men) or 50 minutes (Women) within the last 12 months.

If you are eligible for the Worcestershire championship then enter the Worcestershire 10,000m. You will automatically be included in the Midland 10,000m championship and the Edgar Nicholls 10,000m Cup

If you are not eligible for the Worcestershire championships but are eligible for the Midland Championships then enter the Midland Championship. You will automatically be included in the Edgar Nicholls 10,000m Cup

If you are not eligible for the Worcestershire championship or the Midland championship then enter the Edgar Nicholls Open 10,000m.

Qualification for Midland County Championships:

The athlete having been born in the Midlands or a minimum of 9 months continuous residence in the Midlands immediately prior to the event to be competed in.

Birth/Residence qualification is in one of the following:

Avon, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire.

NB:England South West (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire) East Midlands (Derbyshire, Lincolnshire) are recognised for qualification purposes

BUT you can only compete in ONE Area Championships in a calendar year - January to December.

Qualification for Worcestershire Country Championships are one of the following: -
1) By birth in the County (B)
2) By 9 months continuous residence in the County prior to competition (R)
3) By 9 months service in a unit of HM Forces stationed in the County (F)
Worcestershire is defined by the pre 1974 boundary and includes parts of Birmingham

There will be electronic timing if enough entries to cover the cost of this.

There may be prizes as follows (details still to be confirmed)

·         Fastest Man (plus bonus if quicker than Adam Stokes’ time from 2019 – 32:01.2)

·         Fastest Lady (plus bonus if quicker than Hayley Carruther’s time from 2019 – 33:03.8)

·         Any V60 quicker than Edgar’s V60 PB of 38:28.7

·         Any V65 quicker than Edgar’s V65 PB of 43:02.2

·         Any V70 quicker than Edgar’s V70 PB of 46:48.8

CLOTHING

Competitors must wear vest and shorts (or equivalent) and be designed and worn as not to be objectionable, even when wet. The vest must be that of their first-claim affiliated club, county, area or nation. Numbers must be worn as issued.

 

UK Anti-Doping:

all competitors (or parents if under 18) must agree to be familiar with and bound by the UK Athletics Anti-Doping rules, which can be found in detail here:

Entrants shall be deemed to have made him/herself familiar with, and agreed to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.

The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from the [date of entry], whether or not the entrant is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.

For added clarification, the date of entry is the date of the event.
